The new pond

New pond project 20 meters x 5 meters, digging started 16/07/14, digging by hand so it will take a wee while.

Test dig to see whats lurking beneath, the soil seams quite sandy and easy to dig, good start

The pond will have a 10 meter trench 1 meter wide and 70 centimeters deep,this should be fine for and winter freezing given it's exposed situation. The pond will have shallows of about 30 centimeters for easy exit if any thing falls in!
